I Do Not Want to Go Fishing.

My 4 year old decided to swallow her Littlest Pet Shop cat's fish yesterday. Now you know why I have no desire whatsoever to go fishing =).

Oh, this too shall pass =)!
4 Weeks Old Today!

Jordyn is 4 weeks old today. In some ways it seems like time has gone by so quickly, in other ways it seems like it truly has been 28 days since her birthday! This last week she was such a trooper! From Thursday evening - Saturday afternoon she came with me to our annual Ladies Retreat. She did fabulous! I even got to hear the messages (more on the Ladies Retreat coming shortly!!). It was fun having just her for a couple of evenings to just hold. The time to hold her at home flies by when taking care of the other girls and the house, etc., so I cherished those moments I just was able to rock her and hold her and snuggle with her!

She is growing like a weed, too! I can't wait to see how much she weighs next time we go to the doctor. Her cheeks are filling out! Last night she even let me sleep about 3 1/2 hours straight...well, that may have been because I forgot to turn her monitor back on after feeding #1! She is a very pleasant baby! She has her little spurts of crying throughout the day, but other than that, she is quiet and happy! She is starting to focus in on people and things which is fun for us! Reagan and Sydney love showing her toys throughout the day!!

Father's Day!

We had a great afternoon on Sunday celebrating Father's Day! After church we headed to Mom and Dad's for a wonderful lunch (I love when it's something for the guys...that usually means we get steak =)!) Then we went to their neighbor's house and went for a little swim! It was relaxing and fun! I tell you what, and I know I'm a little biased, but I think my girls have one of the best dads in the world! He is faithful to play with them, read to them, teach and train them and discipline them. He can make them laugh like no one else can. Today Reagan asked me if I'll always be her mommy...even when she grows up and gets married. Of course, I said "yes." She then told me that when she gets married she wants to marry someone at church like her Daddy. I told her that would be a great idea. Then she asked me if she could marry Grandpappy...I told her that would not work out so well! =)

Here's a couple of pictures from Sunday!

A 4 Year Old, A 3 Week Old, and A Super-Hero 2 Year Old!

On June 4th, Reagan turned 4!! What a big girl she is and such a big helper! We had her and Sydney's birthday party together last month, so her Aunt Sissy and
the girls made yummy cupcakes and came to spend the morning with us and have lunch! What a fun treat! I think Reagan likes being 4 now! She was able to move up into the 4 year old class at church which she loves. Yesterday she told me all about the story she learned about and who was in her class and what her teachers were like! What a memory this little girl has! Let's see, what are her favorite things to do right now? Kiss her baby sister, color, draw, read, play Leapster LMax, and Legos. Oh, and as I said before, she is such a helper! She is eager to help me with whatever I ask her...oh, except dirty diapers!!

Jordyn is 3 weeks old today and she is growing! I took her to the doctor last week and she had gained almost a pound! Her cheeks are growing by the day! She is such a sweet little baby. She's starting to look at us a little more and I think I've even seen a grin or two!! Her favorite thing right now is her swing (I think it may be mine, too!!). She was punching both sides of the bassinet yesterday, so down it came and up went the pack-n-play! Now she has more room! She is rolling up on her side which is crazy to me! We moved her in her own room a few days ago and she's doing great in there...and we are getting more sleep, too!

And now to our Super-Hero 2 Year Old!! Sydney, our little ham, likes to run around with Jordyn's bath towel after she's all dry and act like Super Man! She is our silly one for sure! She makes me laugh daily. It's amazing how much her countenance has changed over the last couple of months! Her favorite things to do these days are playing baby dolls, playing with her Dora stuff and watching Barney. Oh, and we took all the girls to the KangaRoom - a bounce house place - on Saturday and Sydney had a blast! She even climbed up the really big slide all by herself. We've been before, but Sydney wasn't really interested in it. This time it was so much fun to watch her and Reagan running from thing to thing and having so much fun! Oh, and it's a great way to wear out the little kids. (and big kids - b/c you can do all the things the kids can do!)

What's to Fear? All the Grace We Need is Available for Us Today!

I've heard the following quote quoted several times recently and it's one of my favorites right now. I also love what Nicole (from the Girl Talk Blog) says at the end of the quote...there's no grace for my imagination. It seems so easy to allow my mind to wander - about my children, my husband, the world, etc. and to become fearful about the "what ifs", but there is not grace for those thoughts, there IS grace and mercy that God gives us each day sufficient for THAT day! So, here's part of the post from Nicole...

This morning Ian Duguid helped me do away with these anxious wonderings. He was commenting on the well-known story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace:

“God has not promised to give us the grace to face all of the desperate situations that we might imagine finding ourselves in. He has promised to sustain us only in the ones that he actually brings us into. He therefore doesn’t promise that we will be able to imagine how we could go through the fire for his sake, but he does promise that if he leads us through the fire, he will give us sufficient grace at that time. Like manna, grace is not something that can be stored up for later use: each day receives its own supply” (Iain Duguid, Daniel, p. 53).

That’s right, there’s no grace for my imagination. But there’s plenty of grace for whatever God has ordained for me to walk through. My job? Declare Jesus as Lord today and not imagine "a graceless tomorrow."

And here are a couple of pictures of our girlies!
Sweet Sisters!

She's such a sleepy head!
