This Week's Savings!

It was another good week of savings! This was my Publix and CVS run. The total should have been $112.61. I spent $43.20 out of pocket after coupons and a gift card I got from CVS for sending one of my prescriptions there! Also, I ended up with $11.69 in ECBs and I'm getting a rebate for $3. Pretty sweet!

OH, and I got a stainless steel and black 6 qt crock pot with a little dipper crock pot and serving spoon ($39.99!) and a tea kettle ($8!!) I've had my eye on! Both were on clearance this week! It pays to wait!

CVS and Walgreens Deals Worth Noting This Week!

Last week I didn't do so hot at my CVS run. The cashier messed up my coupons and with trying to watch the 3 little ones and the cashier last week I didn't catch it until after I had already left the store. So, I just counted that trip a loss! So, this week I made my CVS and Walgreens run after the girls were in bed and it was great! Here's what I bought...

I spent $54.37 (that was after $36.78 in coupons and ECBs) out of pocket for 2 - 25 ct. each Loreal facial cleansers, 1 box of Always, 2 - 36 ct. each boxes of Platex, 2 - 40 ct. each packages of diapers, 1 Glade candle, 2 Rimmel Foundations, 2 Glade Plug ins, Scrubbing Bubbles cleaning kit, Arm and Hammer Multi Purpose Cleaner. So, you say $54.37 is not really a deal...well, after rebates and ECBs earned, it's really like I just spent $5.15 for all of this! Now that makes coupon cutting worth it to me!

Random Blog

I've been wanting to update, but time to do so has been minimal! So, let me try to post a little real quick!

Here are my sweet little darlings in a rare moment of mutual hugging. They do love each other, but I have one daughter who is super into touching and another who I think would do well not being touched - ever! So as you can tell by the quick shot I took through the banister this was a rare moment!
I love a good salad on a hot summer day! Here's our dinner - a Cobb salad - from Friday night! It was super yummy!

And here is my super deal of the week (actually, I made the order in August, but I just picked it up tonight). I bought ALL of this for $1.99!!! (6 books for the girls for Christmas, a CD for the girls for Christmas, a CD for Steve, one for me and a book for me!)

Deals!

This month I've been trying to learn how to save on our budget while it not consuming all my time. I've had some great help from some of my friends who are truly living their lives as Proverbs 31 women. This month I've tried to just spend a couple of hours a week planning my different grocery/store trips and have limited how much time I spend surfing the net for deals. Hopefully as I get better with what I've started doing this month I'll be able to find even better ways to save money for our family! I have found it very difficult to stay in budget with food and diapers and now we are adding formula to the mix, so I wanted to see how much I could save this month by making a few changes! It's been fun for me to try to see what deals are out there and to see the savings. I actually think I'm going to stay well in budget this month! Yay!!!

So, here's where I've started:

www.moneysavingmom.com - She gives great tips and tells about a lot of deals. She posts a lot, so I just skim over it.

www.couponmom.com - She has a ton of info on her website. I haven't looked over much of it, but I have been getting my Publix list from her site and have printed coupons from there.

www.thegrocerygame.com - I subscribed to this site for the CVS list. It makes shopping easy! (Although I'm stilling trying to figure out the Extra Care Bucks!)

So, I've kept a tally this month and by using coupons, Extra Care Bucks, shopping for Buy One/Get Ones, rebates, etc. I've saved a total of AT LEAST $200.00!! And I usually go over getting only what will get us through the month. This month we are well supplied with diapers that will last us through next month (at least for Jordyn!), plenty of toiletry items, cereal, and quite a bit still in the pantry!!

This wasn't my best run of the month, but I paid $7.10 for everything in this picture!
(2 cans of Enfamil Lipil, 1 Jumbo pack of Luvs, Glade oil plug in, 3 deodorants, 1 Johnson's Buddies Soap, Travel sizes of Tide and All, 2 boxes of Pop Tarts, 2 Shampoos)

If you have any money saving tips, I'd love to hear them!!
